* Antiviral medicine (Kanonpharma).

1. Composition

Active substance: Valaciclovir hydrochloride 556mg (equivalent to valaciclovir 500mg). Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, povidone, magnesium stearate, film-coating.

2. Indications

Treatment of Herpes zoster (shingles); treatment and prevention of recurrent Herpes simplex infections of the skin and mucous membranes, including genital herpes.

3. Dosage and Administration

Oral use, with or without food. For Herpes zoster: 1000mg 3 times daily for 7 days. For Herpes simplex: 500mg twice daily for 5 days.

4. Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to valaciclovir or aciclovir; children under 12 years (under 18 for shingles); severe renal impairment without dosage adjustment.

5. Side Effects

Headache, nausea, dizziness, abdominal discomfort, transient elevation of liver enzymes, mild rash.

6. Storage Conditions

Store in original pack in a dry place protected from light, below 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
